The Funny Thing Is...

Something strange happened to me today, and by today I mean just now, and by just now I mean I was so perplexed by my reaction that the only logical solution was to share with Tumblr. The picture below showed up on my Dashboard, and since my lovely manfriend was too busy being asleep to be amazed with me (so selfish!) I wandered off onto wikipedia to look at what these little beauties snack on.

This search led me to the Velella Velella (don’t go renaming your kids), which was just so pretty that I teared up. Now I won’t deny that I have, on occasion, shed a tear, but that is another story, but never in recent memory have I cried because something was wonderful to look at (anyone who’s seen Planet Earth knows I’m clearly lying to myself but let me maintain some semblance of pride). Amidst a world full of shit, war, child-molesters, enablers of child molestation, and power hungry police, there are so many things that remind you that without people, the world is such a magnificent place. Sometimes I forget that. I’ll try not to.
